The Joy of the Outdoors in North Central Florida
15 or so years ago, this little site began as a portfolio and resume pages for me. That is, Bryan Lindenberger.
Since then, it has morphed (albeit clumsily) into a hobby site fully dedicated to hiking trails in north central Florida. Namey, Alachua, Marion, and Putnam counties with a few jaunts elsewhere.
In the process, I’ve made countless additions to Google Maps, including trailheads and parking locations. After all, it’s not very useful if Maps drops you into the middle of a forest with no knowledge of where to park! Many trails weren’t listed at all. For better or worse, I added them. No regrets – I’ve only met great people backpacking, hiking, walking, and horseback riding. Along the way, I’ve also added live trail maps at the indispensable AllTrails.
I hope you find the 40+ trail guides here useful. While not exhaustive, this site is what I most often find myself using for 4-12 mile excursions in the region.
Also, while I consider all images and information here of free commons, I love hearing from you first. Magazines, ecological groups, and various parks have each contacted me to use materials here. It’s always a yes. I just enjoy knowing that people find the materials useful for their own projects. And I am grateful.
