Lake Alto Park, Waldo, Florida
Multiple Hiking Trails from One Location in Waldo, Florida

Talk about a gem! Lake Alto Park offers more than a boat ramp to a quiet lake with great fishing. You’ll also find an abundance of space for family gatherings complete with picnic tables and grill. On top of that, you’ll also find multiple hiking opportunities.
Three hikes to take include Longleaf Ecology and Forestry Society (LEAFS) at the south end, Treefrog Trail, and the Lake Alto Preserve with a scenic, 4-mile loop to the north. The links take you to trail and information maps for each.
There’s no way you can see and do it all in a day here. Yet I found this place mostly secluded despite the great offerings. Lake Alto Park is a no-miss for hiking in Waldo, Florida plus picnics, fishing, and boating.
